Dear Friends and Family,
I hope that you all had a wonderful Easter and enjoyed
celebrating our risen Lord. I am still enjoying being on vacation.
I have spent most of the time here on campus. I am working in my
classroom trying to get it in some resemblance of order. It is
looking better, and I have most of the bulletin boards ready for
school to start. I have also gotten a big jump on my lesson plans
for this coming trimester. I still have lots to do before next
week when the kids return.
I did take a little get away this last weekend for Easter. Rhonda, the 5th grade teacher, and I went to Yamosoukro to stay with a friend of hers who teaches at the New Tribes Mission school there. It was nice to get away. On Saturday evening we were out eating at this little restaurant and we could see the Basilica across the water. They light it up for Easter. It was really neat. On Sunday we had services with the New Tribes school and then lunch with all of their singles. It was a nice relaxing weekend. Well that is once we got there. Friday when we were driving down it was crazy. There were cars, buses, mopeds and people everywhere. We made it there with no problems though.
This weekend I will be going down to Abidjan with two other elementary teachers. We are going to a seminar on how to use the new math books we are getting next year. It is at the International School there. It should be a good meeting, and it will be nice to be in Abidjan for a few days.
The kids come back next Tuesday and classes start on Wednesday. I get another new student this trimester. She will be a few days late. She is Japanese, and her dad works for one of the businesses in town.
Have a great week!
