Issue #31
October 4, 1999

Dear Friends and Family,
Is it really October? Wow! I know you all hear me say that time flies a lot, but I guess it is just so busy around here that time keeps going by.

This week is mid-term. Grades are due on Wednesday. All of the teacher's are frantically trying to get last minute assignments graded and scores figured. This isn't actually the middle of the trimester since we have the extra week added to the end. There is an intramural hand ball tournament this week. The middle school - staff are all divided up on 4 different teams for these tournaments. I have no idea how to play, but I'm sure I'll get out there and try. Go White!!

This week is also Free Weekend. That means we get out of school at noon on Friday. I am "sponsoring" a group to go to Yamosoukro for the weekend. I ended up with this job because I am just about the only one of the group that this isn't my first year. I think we might have one person with us who speaks French. It should be a fun trip and a chance for some of the new people to see some more of Africa. We are going to visit a Game Park. There aren't a lot of animals to see, but at least we will get to see a few rhinos, possibly a hippo, a bunch of different kinds of deer and antelope, and water buffalo. On a good day, there might be some monkeys. It will just be a nice few days away from the school.

Prayer and Praise:
*Kema - He is the student that was moved back to my class from 4th grade. He is doing better, but still has some more adjusting to do. I saw him smile for the first time on Friday. Continue to pray for him, especially that he begin to want to participate in P.E.
*Dan Grudda - Dan is our business manager this year. He has had a migraine and double vision for about 2 weeks. Dan and his wife, Nancy, are leaving for the States this evening. He has a doctor's appoinment on Wednesday. The doctor's here said they had done everything they could.
*Container - The container still is not here. Pray that it will arrive soon.
*Evangelism Explosion - A group of high school students went out to share the Gospel yesterday afternoon. Six people accepted Christ and a seventh was very close. The church that the students are working with has 17 in their new converts class.
*Traveling - There will be a lot of people traveling this weekend. Pray for safety.

Hope to hear from some of you all soon. If I didn't give it to you earlier, my new email address is tepps@ica.ed.ci.

In Christ,
Traci
