Issue #49
March 3, 2000

Dear Friends and Family,
I am sitting in my classroom at the end of a Friday afternoon. It is 92 degrees inside my classroom with the fans going. It is just a bit warm. A basketball tournament will be starting in a just a few minutes. There are games the rest of today and all day tomorrow. The New Tribes Missions School is coming up from Yamo, and there are a couple of the African schools from town playing in the tournament. Tonight is also the slumber party for my Sunday School class. I will have the 16 5th graders plus one guest. The boys will be staying outside in a tent with one of the guys that lives in my building. At least with the girls, I might still get some sleep. They aren't quite as active as the boys are.

Next weekend, Friday, March 10, through Sunday, March 12, will be Outreach Weekend. There are 82 people going on this trip, 14 from Ohio, 16 staff, and 54 high school students. We will be traveling a couple of hours north to Korhogo. I wanted to send you the schedule and the prayer request that have been sent out so you can uphold us all in the prayer during this time.

Just a note on the basketball game, we will have both a girls and guys team and the high school group coming from Ohio will have a girls and guys team. The youth in Korhogo have been preparing teams to play for some time. This is going to be a time to draw in people who would normally not come.
